The location takes 1 hr to reach from Kuala Lumpur. The caves consist of three caves, three main caves plus a series of smaller ones, most of them containing statues and 100-year-old shrines dedicated to Hindu gods. Hindu festival of Thaipusam is celebrated in January and lots of people visit at that time.
